We are pleased to announce an open Surgical Critical Care Fellowship position for Appointment Year 2027, with a start date of August 1, 2027.
About the Program
HCA Houston Healthcare Clear Lake has received ACGME accreditation for its inaugural Surgical Critical Care Fellowship. Our program offers a rigorous, clinically rich training environment within a high-volume combined Trauma ICU and Surgical ICU, providing fellows with broad and diverse exposure to the full spectrum of surgical critical illness.
Program Highlights
- ACGME-accredited, one-year fellowship with one position available
- High-volume combined Trauma ICU and Surgical ICU in a co-located unit
- Diverse case mix encompassing trauma, emergency general surgery, hepatobiliary, colorectal, vascular, and thoracic critical care

- Simulation-based procedural training

- Board preparation aligned with FCCM and ABS examinations

Requirements
- Enrolled in an ACGME-accredited General Surgery residency by July 31, 2027
- ABS board-eligible at the time of appointment
- Eligible for Texas Medical Board licensure
- Strong commitment to surgical critical care as a career
